Campus Café: Hands-on humanoids

We will kick off with BREiNN, Breman’s innovation lab. BREiNN accelerates AI and robotics transitions by bringing together people, strategy, technology, and collaboration. As a technical services provider, Breman is actively implementing digitalization and robotics in practice. This gives them first-hand insight into both the opportunities and the challenges companies face when adopting new generations of robotics, such as humanoid robots.

Next, we examine the technological and practical possibilities from the perspective of knowledge institutions. The Manufacturing Systems research group at the University of Twente (Robotics Centre) shares experiences and insights regarding the use and potential of humanoid robots. Saxion University of Applied Sciences (SMART research group) addresses the integration of humanoid robots and what is required to successfully incorporate this technology into existing work environments.

Finally, it is time for hands-on engagement. In three different breakout sessions, we will delve deeper into specific issues within smaller groups. You can choose the session that best suits your situation:

BREAKOUT 1 - GETTING STARTED

Your organization wants to start working with humanoids. But where do you begin? What knowledge and skills are required, and what capabilities do your staff need? We look at current learning practices and available training programs and learning environments. We also discuss the knowledge and skills that knowledge institutions need to provide in order to further assist companies in this area.

BREAKOUT 2 - CHALLENGES & INTEGRATION

You already have experience with robotics or have started working with humanoids. What practical challenges do you encounter? In this session, we discuss technical and organizational hurdles, with a special focus on system integration: how do you connect existing systems with new humanoid systems? We also examine the knowledge and skills needed to make this integration a success.

BREAKOUT 3 - BUSINESS CASE

Acquiring a humanoid robot is one thing, but how do you determine whether the investment actually delivers value? This session focuses on the business case. How do you approach it, what factors do you consider, and how do you finance the move to humanoid robotics?

Whether you are just exploring the possibilities, already have experience with robotics, or have concrete plans to deploy humanoids, this Campus Café offers a space to share knowledge, ask questions, and discover together what is needed to take the next step.
