Bouwmetaal specialises in the production and installation of high-quality custom-made solutions using non-ferrous metals such as zinc, coated steel, aluminium, copper, and composites. Prefabricated roof and façade cladding is prepared in-house and delivered to construction sites at the right time, where it is installed by in-house teams of (zinc) specialists.

Problem description

How can AI help improve processes and increase efficiency in the construction sector? This research explores AI tools and systems relevant to Bouwmetaal and its partner companies. You will evaluate their practical usability by analysing current workflows and identifying pain points. The outcome will be clear recommendations for smart AI integration, helping Bouwmetaal to operate more efficiently and with a future-ready approach.

Assignment description

Analyse business processes; inventory and assess available data; explore suitable AI tools and programmes; estimate the potential added value of AI in the construction processes at Bouwmetaal and the partner companies of Innovation Hub Tubbergen; develop a concrete prototype or example tool as a first practical application.

Profile

A strong understanding of (technical) business processes, solid analytical skills, and the ability to evaluate diverse technical datasets. Familiarity with AI tools and programmes. Creative mindset and the ability to define a feasible research question.
