How do you keep expert knowledge and transfer it (digitally)?
Huima is a complex organisation where a great deal of expert knowledge resides in the minds of its employees. Some specific knowledge has been recorded on paper, but little to none of it has been digitised, meaning that “searching for information” still depends on the expert’s knowledge: “Where did I write that down again?”, “Is it on the drawing or in the logbook?”, “Hey colleague, did you see that note?”
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION
Huima is a complex organisation where a vast amount of expert knowledge is stored in people’s minds. Some specific knowledge has been documented on paper, but little to none of it is available digitally, meaning that “finding information” once again depends on the expert’s memory: “Where did I write that down again?”, “Is it on the drawing or in the logbook?”, “Hey colleague, have you seen that scrap of paper?” We want to share this knowledge and, most importantly, make it easily accessible for all (future) employees.
