In the past years an increase in attacks on manufacturing companies, ransomeware, targeting machinery and equipment have occurred. Can you focus on cybersecurity so machinery can not be used as an attack vector to target other companies?

The world of IT has become a dangerous place over the years. Luckily over the years the focus on cybersecurity in IT has increased a lot and people have become better aware of the risks. At the same time the OT (Operational Technology) environment is a bit forgotten and has fallen behind, even though that machinery and equipment use more and more similar technologies as used in IT environments. Many cyber-attacks on companies have focused on their data and many companies have implemented mitigation strategies to mitigate the risks as well as the impact. In the past years there is an increase in attacks on manufacturing companies, ransomware targeting machinery and equipment. We as machine manufacturing consider it as our responsibility to have a better product that even when customers don’t have a lot of focus on cybersecurity our machinery cannot be used as an attack vector to target their companies.

Execute a risk assessment from various angles (our product, our business processes, our customers business
processes, etc.).
Define mitigation strategies, both for reducing risk as well as reducing impact.
Written report with an advise for our organization.
Implement at least 1 advise that has impact.
