BrainCreators received highest investment in the Pitch & Match sessions during The Future of High Tech

Startup BrainCreators received the highest investment in the Pitch & Match sessions during The Future of High Tech with their solution to bring Artificial Intelligence into companies.

The Amsterdam based startup BrainCreators applies Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning to business challenges and builds software solutions for machine learning. CEO Jasper Wognum: “Artificial Intelligence technology is ready to be applied to a wide range of business challenges. Machine Learning and Deep Learning are not reserved to a couple of huge tech companies with very deep pockets. Even small businesses can profit from smart software based on AI. We believe that in five years companies have their own Artificial Intelligence department identifying opportunities in AI and building solutions. We want to help them create their own expert AI teams by sharing our knowledge and experience.”

Tackling global challenges

In preparation of The Future of High Tech, a selective group of startups was matched with global challenges from the Ministry of Defence, Thales, KPN, Axoom and Trumpf, based on three tracks: Artificial Intelligence, Production Technology and Unmanned Systems. BrainCreators joined the global challenge: How to create new business models using Machine Learning for production technology considering independency of raw data, data storage and patterns based algorithms?

Pitching before an expert panel

“We had three minutes to pitch our business model for an audience of startups, corporates and experts”, Maarten Stol, principal scientific advisor explains. The ten minutes that followed were for questions from the experts and the audience. “We were pleasantly surprised by the setting and feedback of the experts during the session. The investor in the expert panel was very enthusiastic about our solution and called it ‘absolutely worth’ investing in.”

From each of the three tracks the expert panel chose a winner. These three winners pitched their solution on the main stage. The audience could then invest 5 euros in one of the three startups. BrainCreators received most of the 5 euros.

Increasing visibility

Jasper and Maarten were both enthusiastic about The Future of High Tech. Jasper: “It was good to see so many startups and large corporates join the event. That made it inspiring and a good network opportunity. The next day, when I was at CapitalFest in Amsterdam, I even got remarks on my pitch at The Future of High Tech. Joining the event really added to our visibility as a company.” And the symbolic investment they received? ”With that we will treat our team!”
